About
A world-class sporting facility, the Gordie Howe Sports Complex welcomes thousands of athletes, their families, and friends every year. Known as Saskatoon’s hub of sport, the facility hosts football, rugby, softball, baseball, track and field, speed skating, and cross-country skiing, bringing communities from across the province together to engage in and celebrate their collective love of sport.
Objective
A $63M campaign to upgrade and transform all facilities, sporting venues and fields (The Bowl) at the Gordie Howe Park.
Result
Became the largest sports project in Saskatoon's history
Facility of choice for hosting sporting events and competitions at the local, provincial, national and international level
Over 25,000 athletes use the facility on an annual basis
An upgraded spectator experience with 5,000 seats and nine luxury boxes
Home to Canada’s largest artificial turf field – CFL certified
Football field usage increased from 135 hours to over 1,200 hours annually, bringing the number of athletes from 1,500 to over 6,000
$ GOAL: $21M (Phase 1-3) + $42M (Phase 4)
