Our Commitment

We are all treaty people.

In addition to learning from initiatives planned by Indigenous peoples and organizations across the country, DCG is aware that the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action encompass several actions we can and should consider as individuals and as an organization.

We are committed to Indigenous philanthropy as part of our role in reconciliation. It is a privilege and honour to be part of this important learning while establishing meaningful relationships and sharing best practices.

DCG works to move forward in an atmosphere of understanding, dignity and respect towards the shared goal of reconciliation. The following objectives, each with its own goals and determinants, shape our ongoing response to Call to Action 92:

  •  Play our role in fostering an environment that is conducive towards reconciliation with a people-first approach.

  • Integrate continuous Indigenous awareness training among staff to address our responsibility of learning history, culture, and truth.

  • Establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with Indigenous partners, organizations, and communities.

  • Elevate the charitable sector by aligning a culture of reciprocity to advance economic reconciliation.

  • Invest in community to advance the achievement of self-sufficiency within a healthy social economic system.

Please reach out if you’d like to learn more about our actions and learnings within each objective.
