Raj Chandran
Associate
Raj is a service Industry professional with more than 15 years of experience. He is a Saskatchewan Polytechnic alumnus and served as the Vice President of the students’ association. Raj was recognized for his work and contributions on campus and in the community of Prince Albert when he won the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Outstanding student citizen of the year award for the year 2023.
Raj has served on the Community Services Advisory Committee as a member for the City of PA. He is passionate about supporting local communities and small businesses and often volunteers for local events. He has volunteered and worked for events and Organizations like; Jazz music festival, Vesna, Folk festival, Ukrainian day in the park, PA downtown street fair, Mini Fridge Theatre, Children’s Haven, Persephone Theatre, Saskatoon city hospital, Haywire farm music festival to name a few. He was a speaker at Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s KNOW Conference and at the LEAD conference’s reconnect event.
Raj has worked on projects and assignments where he has rubbed shoulders with colleagues and clients from more than 35 different nationalities. He feels that he has a mindset of a global citizen, yet his heart is always local.
Raj brings in a good level of emotional intelligence in his work culture and practice, making him a natural people’s person, especially when it comes to philanthropic work. He attributes this ability to his upbringing during his formative years in a school for blind children in India, where his parents served as teachers.
Raj loves to explore new cultures by travelling, trying out new cuisines and forms of art. He loves to cook for his friends and family. He is an improv comedy and public speaking enthusiast.
