Growing Together with Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre: $12M Nutrien Plant Possibility Campaign

In October 2023, Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre (SFBLC) launched the Nutrien Plant Possibility Campaign with a goal of $12 million to build a new home for the SFBLC. The campaign envisions not just a relocation but a vibrant and lively hub for learning and connection with programs and services that go beyond emergency food distribution.

The new facility will:

  • Optimize operations by bringing all facilities together at one location

  • Increase the quality and quantity of healthy food available with adequate storage for dry, refrigerated and frozen goods

  • Enhance flow of food from pickup/delivery to storage and distribution with dock-ready shipping and receiving, and a building designed for this specific purpose

  • Expand food distribution from a warehouse with a shipping and receiving dock able to manage five-plus tonnes of food a day and distribute 8,500 plus baskets per month

  • Double the space for warehouse volunteers/staff to work efficiently all under one roof

  • Serve all 36 food banks in the province as the administration, shipping and receiving hub for Food Banks of Saskatchewan
