The WBYL provides a combination of essential programming and services aimed at promoting a healthy and hopeful lifestyle for children, youth, young adults and their families. Rooted in cultural identity and ceremony, WBYL’s holistic approach offers spiritual, emotional, physical and mental benefits to all who are served.
Programs include recreational, cultural, educational and health programs and services such as after-school activities like enjoying meals, gym games and dancing to drumming and singing. Youth can also participate in sporting activities, cultural events and traditional ceremonies. They have access to on-site health services from a counsellor, nurse practitioner or dental therapist, or they can seek free legal assistance.
Community initiatives have allowed for children and youth to partake in various life skill-developing activities such as mentorship programs, employment training or giving back to the community. The variety of supports and activities made available to the children and youth has made the WBYL a place of choice for comfort, safety and growth.
